About Us

Our Story of Transformation and Empowerment

Kamogelo Ya Podu was born out of lived experience. Our founder, Makgabo Lebogang Mabula, journeyed through the silent struggles of teenage motherhood, sexual abuse, and mental health challenges despite coming from a seemingly supportive background. Realizing the deep societal gaps in psycho-social support, guidance, and empowerment for teenage mothers and vulnerable youth, she transformed her pain into purpose.

Kamogelo Ya Podu provides a safe, empowering space for:

  • Teenage mothers
  • Child-headed households
  • Survivors of rape and abuse
  • Youth requiring academic support and life skills
  • Young mothers needing holistic support

We believe no young woman or child should walk this journey alone.

Vision

To create a world where every young mother, survivor, and vulnerable youth has access to dignity, support, education, and opportunities — empowering them to break cycles of trauma and poverty and build a future of confidence and independence.

Mission

  • To provide holistic psycho-social support for teenage mothers and survivors of rape and abuse
  • To empower youth in child-headed households with life skills, educational support, and mentorship
  • To offer academic support programs, including extra classes and computer literacy
  • To establish safe spaces for healing, dialogue, and empowerment
  • To connect young mothers with resources, mentorship, and career guidance to support both themselves and their children
  • To advocate for community awareness and policy change around youth, gender-based violence, and mental health
